Fallout 4 Next Gen Update for PC, which was highly anticipated, is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This update brings performance and quality improvements to the game and is not yet available for those who obtained Fallout 4 through the PlayStation Plus collection.
Fallout 4 Next Gen Update for PC Modes
The update includes two modes: Performance and Quality. Performance Mode allows players to run the game at up to 60fps with 4K resolution via dynamic scaling, while Quality Mode runs the game at 30fps with 4K resolution (without dynamic scaling).
The patch notes highlight the addition of new Creation Club Content, such as the Enclave Remnants quest and various workshop items and armor skins. The update also addresses several issues, including connectivity problems for Japanese and Chinese users, quest progression, and stability improvements.
Players on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 can select the desired version of Fallout 4 from their collection and download the update. Xbox Series X users can access the “My games and app” section, go to “see all,” then “manage,” and select the update for Fallout 4. PC players can launch the Steam application, right-click on Fallout 4 in the library, select the update option and choose to keep the game updated automatically.
Cost of Fallout 4 Next Gen Update for PC
Bethesda, the game maker, announced that the update for Fallout 4 on PS5 would be free for all those who own the game. However, players who have the PS+ version of the game might not be eligible for the free update. If you belong to this category, you can either download the PS4 version or pay $19.99 to unlock the PS5 update.

Note: It is possible that the new next-gen update for Fallout 4 may cause any mods you have downloaded to break. This is particularly true for those who have downloaded mods inspired by the new Fallout TV show that has recently aired.
